PriceTalon Extension — Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2026. Plain English, because that's the whole point of PriceTalon.
What the extension does
When you're on a supported used-car listing page (Cars.com, Autotrader, or CarGurus), the extension reads the car's basic facts from the page in your own browser and sends only those facts to PriceTalon to calculate a deal score and estimated cost to own. That's it.
What we read & send
- The car's year, make, model, mileage, price, and fuel type, taken from the structured data the listing site already publishes on the page.
- Your PriceTalon account token, so we know you're a signed-in user.
What we do not collect
- We do not track your browsing history or the pages you visit.
- We do not read, store, or share listing photos, descriptions, or seller details.
- We do not sell your personal information — ever.
- The extension only runs on the specific car-listing sites listed above — nowhere else.
Data storage
The only thing stored on your device is your account token (so you stay signed in) and the most recent check's result (to show in the popup). Car facts are sent to PriceTalon to compute a score and are not tied to a profile of your browsing.
Your account
Using the extension requires a free PriceTalon account, handled under PriceTalon's standard terms. You can disconnect anytime by removing the extension or logging out.
